Our new student, CALLUM, came on Tuesday--everyone was so excited! We are so happy to have him in our class.
We have reached our goal of two or fewer unkind words and actions each day once, and we are still working on it. Today we had a lesson on using kind words and actions. Meaning, sometimes we think a thought that is not kind--when we're thinking it, we can say that it's in our "thought bubble". If we know that it will make others sad or embarrassed, we just leave it in our "thought bubble" and don't let it move in to our "speech bubble". Attached is the worksheet we did today--if you feel that your child could use some extra practice with this skill, print it out and do it again! Then have them bring it to school on Tuesday and I will give them a prize for doing extra credit. :)
A HUGE thanks to all those parents who sent in supplies this last week. We really appreciate it! It is also looking as though Legos are becoming a really popular and motivating incentive for some of our students. If you happen to have any that you don't use any more and would like to make good use of, feel free to send them our way and we'll give them a good home. :)
Kids in our class will not know this yet because I just found out, but our dear Mrs. Bliss will not be returning to our class because of health issues with her children. She has worked for 6+ years in small group classrooms, does our music and is very good at what she does. We will sorely miss her.

This happened at recess one day--he saw another kid being buried on the playground and just laid down right next to him and all the other kids started covering him. He loved this. :) |
