Week Sixteen: 11 Days Until Christmas!

This week we...

...made some clay Christmas ornaments.
...practiced rhythms with eighth and quarter notes in music with our new Christmas song, Elf Rap. All the teachers were very impressed at how quickly the class caught on--by the third time through nearly everyone was listening and clapping to various complicated rhythms.
...began memorizing our "friends of ten" in math with this catchy youtube video
...finished our Christmas art project from last week. 
...watched the sixth grade festival singers perform at an assembly on Thursday and afterwards received a surprise visit from Santa himself!

...sent home a lot of notices about next week's upcoming events. Below are copies of both notes that were sent home.
