Week 2 - Happy Labor Day!

Week 2

The weeks just keep flying by! This week consisted of a lot of breaks from our typical routine (hah! Typical--I suppose we haven't even been in school long enough to know what typical is).  Here's how our week looked:

Monday - Fire Drill
Tuesday - Marching Band Assembly
Wednesday - Lock down drill
Friday - Field trip

I won't lie--the field trip was not the most exciting field trip we've ever been on. Some of the kids had a little difficulty sitting still and some of the story-telling was a little over the kids' heads. (This is the first time our class has been able to go--now we know why people haven't gone in the past!) However, we did have two little stars who were invited to help with a performance on stage:

They were a credit to our class--great job Kai and Justin!

We also began specialties in P.E. and Library this week. Remember: your kids will not be bringing library books home unless you contact me directly and request that they be allowed to do so.

Another reminder: please visit www.classdojo.com/parent and subscribe to updates on your child's behavior at school.

This week we are hoping to really get the schedule and routines down well. I've already been impressed with student progress. Keep your eyes peeled for homework to begin coming at the end of next week--on Thursday (this will give us a practice run before a whole week's worth of homework). Expect your child to repeat similar assignments weekly to help reinforce certain skills.

Aaaand now: the moment you've all been waiting for--

This week's student of the week is:

KAI!

FOR EARNING THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF TOKENS LAST WEEK.

(TOKENS CAN BE EARNED AT ANY TIME DURING THE DAY FOR FOLLOWING CLASS RULES AND JUST PLAIN OUTSTANDING BEHAVIOR)

GREAT JOB, KAI!

Have a great week!

Mrs. D
